Convicted of rape in Spain, football player Daniel Alves, 40, denied having given an interview to any media outlet after his release from prison. “It is not true that I have granted any interview to any media outlet, nor will I grant it until the legal process is resolved,” he wrote in Spanish on his Instagram profile this Saturday (6).

The positioning came after the Spanish newspaper El Periódico published a report on Friday (5) with the Brazilian’s supposed first statements since leaving prison, on provisional release, after paying a bail of 1 million euros (equivalent to R$ 5.5 million), on March 25th.

In the report, entitled “Dani Alves lives normally after conviction for rape: ‘Where I go, I survive'”, the Spanish outlet states that the player was a few kilos lighter and gave an interview in a restaurant, alongside his friend Bruno Brasil.

Contrary to what the player published this Saturday, the newspaper states that Daniel Alves demonstrated resignation to the process: “That’s what I have to do. Every Friday I go to court and that’s it. I don’t have much else to do either”, he said. answered.

On his social network, however, he stated that he will not grant interviews “until the legal process is resolved”, in a sign of opposition to the court decision.

The report cites in detail what the player would have ordered at the restaurant and how he dressed, and states that Daniel Alves even commented on how he spent his time in prison.
