Cultural spaces promote diverse activities this weekend in Manaus

Manaus (AM) – This weekend, the Government of Amazonas, through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, promotes a great program in the main cultural spaces of the State. Aimed at all audiences, the list includes exhibitions, theatrical shows, audiovisual displays and reading activities. Check out the schedule by space:

Amazon Theater

The Teatro Amazonas hosts this Friday and Saturday (22nd and 23rd), at 8pm, the concert “Amazing Tenors in Concert”. The event features three young and already renowned tenors performing songs that marked the career of one of the greatest and most popular tenors in the history of music: Andrea Bocelli. Tickets are on sale on the ShopIngressos website and at the Theater box office.

On Sunday (24), at 11 am, the venue hosts “Stories of Travellers”, a show that tells the adventure of Juvenal and Juvelino, two friends who embark on a trip through the interior of Amazonas to photograph the legends of Brazilian folklore. With free classification, tickets are on sale on the Shop Ingressos website and at the Theater box office.

Also on Sunday, at 7pm, the Theater presents the inclusive musical “Pindorama: An inclusive journey in the diversity of Brazilian folklore”, promoted by the Government of Amazonas, in allusion to National Day for People with Disabilities, celebrated on September 21st. With free entry, the show is free to all audiences.

Installation Theater

This Friday (22nd), at 6pm, the Amazonas Guitar Orchestra (Ovam) takes the stage at the Teatro da Instabilidade with a concert focused on cinematic classics and children’s games, starting the celebration of Children’s Day. The repertoire includes Disney classics, Sítio do Pica-pau-amarelo and games like Super Mario, for example. It’s a show to enjoy, get involved in and remember your childhood. Entry is free.

Largo de São Sebastião

At Largo de São Sebastião, children can enjoy, on Sunday (24), the Mania de Ler program, from 5pm to 7:30pm. With the participation of professor Eli Neuza Soares, the project includes activities to encourage reading, such as storytelling with origami and recreational activities.

For visual arts lovers, Galeria do Largo and Casa das Artes will be open, displaying exhibitions with urban and regional themes. The spaces are open from 3pm to 8pm.

Guarany Cinema Theater

In yet another edition of the Amazon Film Festival, Cineteatro Guarany presents, this Saturday (23), starting at 6:30 pm, a program with productions by filmmaker Juan Lopes. The exhibition features five suspense and horror short films. The exhibition is open to the public, with a rating for people over 12 years old.

Provincial Palace

At the weekend, the Palacete Provincial presents the program for the 17th Spring of Museums, with exhibitions, lectures and themed performances. On Saturday (23/09), the Bernardo Ramos Numismatic Museum will host, at 9 am, the lecture “Black and indigenous representations in Brazilian comics”, with Evaldo Vasconcelos, and at 10 am, “The first inhabitants and Amazonian archeology”, with Nogueira de Almeida.

The 10th edition of Expo Mulher is also part of the program. With the aim of encouraging female entrepreneurs to expand their businesses, improving their quality of life, the event takes place this Friday and Saturday (22nd and 23rd), from 9am to 4pm, on the ground floor of the Palacete.

Rubber Museum

Also included in the activities of the 17th Spring of Museums, on Friday (22/09) the lecture “Reports of a rubber tapper in the Amazon” will be given, from 2pm to 4pm, in the auditorium of the José Sobreiro do Nascimento Municipal School, located in Community of N. Sra. De Fátima, close to the Villa Paraíso Seringal Museum.

Northern Man Museum

The Spring of Museums program extends to the Museu do Homem do Norte, with the lecture “New (re)existences and trajectories of indigenous people and LGBT+ people”. The event takes place this Friday (22), at 10 am, proposing a reflection on current indigenous trajectories and the LGBT+ community.

Parintins Bumbodromo

In yet another edition of the Parintins Culture and Creative Economy Fair, the Bumbódromo hosts, this Saturday (23), three musical attractions to entertain the public. From 4:30 pm, the presentations take place at the cultural space’s Mirante.

The program includes the show “Toques da Viola Caipira”, with Luiz Antonio Guerra, followed by “No rhythm do Chorinho”, with Amigos do Choro de Parintins and closing with the bolero show with singer Neida Teixeira. In addition to the attractions, the fair features creative panels, gastronomic spaces and cinema sessions, opening up space for local artists and entrepreneurs.
