Free from clothes and modesty. This could be described as a type of accommodation in which clothing is left aside, and guests are invited to experience collective nudity.

If in the past there was a shortage of accommodation of this type in the country, currently there are some options aimed at all audiences and budgets. Accommodations for naturists offer different types of environments, and some are close to beaches and mountains.

In a large townhouse in Realengo, in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro, the couple Jefferson Lima, 34, and Thyago Barbosa, 38, have been renting, since July, a room in the residence to guests without clothes.

“Our space was designed for a unique naturist experience. Nudity is optional and available to all genders and families”, says Barbosa. In addition to the room, the place also has a balcony with a hammock and a terrace with views of the mountains.

With daily rates starting at R$150, they celebrate the success of the initiative and soon expanded to other services such as naked transfer (transfer to the Abricó naturist beach, also in the west of the city).

Born in the mountain region, Lucas Soares, 35, was one of those guests who approved the experience with the duo of hosts. “It was great to spend three days without worrying about clothes,” he says.

The initiative of the couple from Rio, however, is not isolated. The number of accommodation options where clothing is optional is growing in Brazil. See some of them below.

Rio Grande do Sul hotel allows nudity in the middle of nature

Inserted in the Colina do Sol naturist club, in the municipality of Taquara, in Rio Grande do Sul, the Ubuntu hotel allows guests greater contact with the naturist lifestyle.

There are 16 suites in a region of 70 hectares, with swimming pools, lakes and sports courts, with rates starting at R$250.

The hotel’s rules of conduct are governed by Colina, which also offers accommodation in chalets and camping, upon recommendation from members.

Inn admits people without clothes in the mountains of Minas Gerais

Opened a few months ago by retired couple Cleide Carvalho and Marcos Cabreira, the El Refúgio hostel is located 100 kilometers from Belo Horizonte, in the district of São José da Serra. The scarcity of naturist places in the state of Minas Gerais was the main motivation for creating the space, according to them.

With the capacity to accommodate 11 people in the three suites, the place also has a heated pool, sauna, hammock, communal kitchen, games table and views of Serra do Cipó.

A naturist for over 35 years, Moacyr Resende, 67, is planning his third stay at the mountain refuge. “I didn’t know what a hostel was, and that I had to bring food and, on the next visit, I took everything and 15 friends.” Daily rates start at R$160 for a couple.

Santa Catarina complex is aimed at couples who like to be naked

Considered the first naturist beach in Brazil, fans of nudity began visiting Pinho beach, in Balneário Camboriú, in Santa Catarina, in the early 1980s.

This is where the Praia do Pinho Tourist Complex is located, which comprises a seaside structure made up of an inn, chalets and a campsite.

It is only available to couples — unaccompanied women and men who can use the naturist passport. Prices: from R$250 for a single room, without breakfast.

In Paraíba, hostel is aimed at the LGBTQIA+ public

More flexible in terms of rules of conduct, Pelados Beach Hostel is located on Tabatinga beach, in the municipality of Conde, Paraíba. Owner Reginaldo Telles, 44, calls it the first hetero-friendly LGBTQIA+ nudist hostel in Latin America.

“Everyone is welcome, especially gay couples, who represent 30% of our audience,” he says. The other segments, according to him, are made up of unaccompanied gays, as well as straight and bisexuals of both genders.

With a view of the sea, the place has a swimming pool, garden and an interaction area where artistic interventions, music, poetry and flirting take place.

Telles informs that it is not a place with sexual appeal, but with connections between people, where respect for others prevails. Opened four months ago, and with capacity for up to 16 guests, daily rates start at R$180 per person in a shared room.

Businessman wants nudist camping in São Paulo

Soon, the municipality of Natividade da Serra will have a nudist hostel. Businessman Éder Ferreira, 41, plans to open a hostel for 30 people in December, expanding the camping space.

The 68,000 m² property has hosted some non-clothed events. Furthermore, Ferreira plans to transform the site into a nudist condominium in the future.
