Coritiba decides not to postpone classic as a tribute to Júnior Chávare

The classic Atletiba of the tenth round of Paraná Championship is held for this Sunday (18), at 6:30 pm, at Couto Pereira. O Coritiba chose to play the duel against Athletico as a tribute to executive director Júnior Chávare, who passed away this Sunday morning.

According to an official note published on the Alviverde website, the Paraná Football Federation (FPF) was available to postpone the game until Monday (19), but decided to continue with the original schedule as a gesture of respect and tribute to the manager.

Coritiba informs that, in relation to this Sunday’s Atletiba classic (18), although the Paraná Football Federation has made itself available to transfer the date to Monday (19), due to the death of executive director Júnior Chávare, due to exclusive, spontaneous and unanimous decision of the technical committee, athletes and football department staff, the Club’s board of directors decided to keep the match on the current date.

This decision will be a gesture of respect and tribute to Júnior Chávare for all the commitment, dedication and professionalism shown by him during his time at the Club and also for his passion for football.
