O Corinthians is on the market looking to reinforce the squad and could have an international football star in 2024. The Cameroonian striker Vincent Aboubakar, from Besiktas, from Turkey, was offered and the new board is studying the signing of the player. Recently, the 31-year-old athlete was the subject of a curious controversy in the sports press, involving a hair transplant.

During the last FIFA Date, Aboubakar asked Besiktas for permission to travel to Cameroon to see his wife, who was ill. However, according to the Turkish newspaper Fanatik, it was all a lie. In fact, the attacker visited his home country, and then went to Paris, France, to undergo the aesthetic procedure. After the implant, he was instructed not to head balls for at least a month. In order not to take the field, he informed the club that he suffered an injury.

According to the publication, Aboubakar returned to the French capital twice more to have the implant evaluated. The trips, however, were carried out without Besiktas’ knowledge. Upon discovering the fraud, the Turkish club removed the player for an indefinite period. In a statement, the team alleged “poor performances and incompatibility with the team”. During the season, he scored 11 goals and provided three assists across 22 matches.

Corinthians has the desire to sign a strong striker to compete for a position with Yuri Alberto. The favorite was Gabriel Barbosa, Gabigol, from Flamengo, but the negotiations did not progress. Grêmio would also be interested in signing Aboubakar to replace the departure of Luis Suárez, who signed with Inter Miami, Lionel Messi’s team in the United States.
