Conservative Congress discusses censorship, indoctrination and freedom

This Saturday (27) Instituto Luzeiro held the 1st Conservative Congress of Curitiba. The meeting promoted debates on the growing judicial activism in the country and the impeachment of former federal deputy Deltan Dallagnol (Podemos), in addition to other topics related to individual freedoms, such as the Censorship Bill, and the economy, such as the recently approved framework federal government tax.

According to the organizers, around 650 people were present at Teatro Bom Jesus, in the capital of Paraná. With the theme “The least you need to know about parliamentary activity, indoctrination in schools and why Brazil is a backward country”, the congress had the participation of federal deputies Bia Kicis (PL-DF), Gustavo Gayer (PL -GO) and Luiz Philippe de Orléans e Bragança (PL-SP), in addition to former federal deputy Paulo Martins.

Impeachment of Deltan Dallagnol

The loss of Dallagnol’s mandate was the target of criticism from Orléans and Bragança. The way in which the issue was handled by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), a unanimous candidacy cassation and without debates, was treated by the deputy as “a complete violation of the rule of law”.

“It is the prerogative of the Chamber to do this justice. A crime was raised, but I believe that there is no Deltan crime. It seems that the government is in a vindictive harvest and is using the State for this”, she opined.

Gayer, in turn, classified the impeachment of the Podemos deputy as “a complete aberration”. “This question of the impeachment of Deltan Dallagnol is a revanchism of corruption, which was not annihilated in Lava Jato and today controls the Judiciary and is strengthened. We are living a consortium dictatorship between the Executive and the Judiciary”, she added.

For deputy Bia Kicis, a popular mobilization is necessary against the TSE decision against Dallagnol. “I believe that we need to manifest in all places. As parliamentarians, we need to put pressure on the platform. The TSE created a new question of ineligibility. It is necessary that the people also manifest themselves and show their indignation. Because it is not just the case of Deltan, there are many others ”, she articulated.

Paulo Martins reinforced the fact that, in the opinion of jurists, the TSE decision was “an injustice”, the result of “an extensive interpretation” of the electoral legislation. “[O TSE] ended up withdrawing the mandate, canceling the representation of more than 300 thousand people. And this process contaminates the lower levels. That is why social action is important, not just taking to the streets, but organizing as a society”, he added.

PL of Censorship

On the other themes of the congress, Orléans e Bragança highlighted the fact that the “freedom of expenses” brought by the new fiscal framework can harm the budget of city halls and states, at the same time that it gives greater powers to the Federal Government. About the so-called PL da Censura, which intends to regulate social networks, the deputy pointed out that “the Judiciary wants to [o projeto aprovado] because he is already practicing censorship”. The legal text would serve, according to the deputy, for the judiciary to be able to “shield itself from obvious attacks on individual rights”.

“We have to be alert at all times with this government. As long as this government is there, the population cannot stay at home. We need to remobilize the population”, added Orleans Bragança.

Bia Kicis went on to talk about the Censorship Bill, and mentioned a possible attempt by the Federal Government to create a “Ministry of Truth” if the bill is approved by the National Congress. “This project is a crime and is an insult to the freedom of expression that is included in the Constitution and in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Thanks to popular pressure, this project was withdrawn from the agenda, but we cannot forget about it and we have to keep hitting this key and saying no to censorship and yes to freedom of expression”, she said.

Indoctrination in schools

Regarding indoctrination in schools, Gustavo Gayer reinforced the appreciation of traditional and family legacies as tools to “combat guidelines such as gender identity”. “The left wants to divide us. Whites against blacks, men against women, parents against children. They hate the Brazilian flag because it is a symbol that unites us. The left distorts our life and our way of communicating The idea defended by several representatives of the left was received by indoctrination, especially in schools”, he continued.

Elections 2024

Finally, Paulo Martins confirmed his desire to be the candidate of the PL for the Mayor of Curitiba in 2024. The former deputy also reinforced that the municipal elections are fundamental for the construction of a political project for the national right in the presidential race in 2026 .

“It is in the municipalities that people live. We neglected the 2020 municipal elections It is what we need to achieve our majority victory and combat the nefarious vision that has dominated the spheres of power ”, he concluded.

Organizers want to unite the right

For the organization of the congress, events like this one aim to bring together the right. Paulo Melo, president of Instituto Luzeiro, explained that by participating in these events, people “can take conservative thoughts to their communities and pass them on in a way that gives results”.

“It is in the small spheres that we manage to change society. That way people can take conservative thoughts into their communities and pass them on in a way that works. These areas will prepare the votes of an entire generation and make a huge impact on the country,” she explained.

Another front of action for Instituto Luzeiro is mobilization through social networks. The organization shares topics of social interest such as the Censorship Bill, the fiscal framework and the Sanitation Framework and explains the importance of each one of them to society.

“With this tool, we reached many more people and we have been trying to raise awareness among the population so that they can charge parliamentarians. We explain in detail to people what each proposal is about so that the population can have the knowledge and basis to deal with them”, concluded Kadu Prado, vice president of the Luzeiro Institute.
