Conib visits Israel and wants to improve bilateral relations – 04/11/2024 – Panel

The first official mission organized by Conib (Confederação Israelita do Brasil), the main representative of the Jewish community in Brazil, arrives this Saturday (13) in Israel, where it will have audiences with the country’s president, Isaac Herzog, and the minister of Diaspora Affairs , Amichai Chikli, among other authorities and representatives of civil society organizations.
The delegation will also meet with families of victims and hostages kidnapped by Hamas, in addition to visiting some of the places attacked on October 7, 2023.
At a time when Israel is experiencing tension with Brazil following critical statements by President Lula (PT) regarding the country’s actions in the conflict in the Gaza Strip, the mission has the improvement of bilateral relations as one of its objectives.
“We also want to bring the support of the Brazilian community to Israel, to the Israelis and to everyone who is experiencing this difficult time closely. Our thoughts are with the families of the victims of the conflict and with the hostages who remain prisoners of Hamas terrorism, for whom we continue to mobilize for immediate release”, says the president of Conib, Claudio Lottenberg.
