On the afternoon of this Wednesday, 9th, the governor of Amapá, Clécio Luís, was in Brasília to monitor the signing of the provisional measure that prevents the 44% increase in energy bills in the state. The MP also alleviates electricity tariffs in other states in the country, especially in the North and Northeast regions.

In speech, Clecio greeted and thanked the president Squid. The governor of Amapá thanked mainly the Waldez Góes (MIDR), Randolfe Rodrigues, Dorinaldo Malafaia, Professor Goreth, Carlos Sampaio (president of the Association of Municipalities of Amapá) and senator David Alcolumbre.

Clecio showed that the provisional measure “it will be very good for Amapá” and also pointed out that the MP “sheds light on energy problems throughout Brazil”. “For us, Mr. [Lula] is fulfilling yet another commitment to the people of Amapá, the Amazon and the Northeast. No one lives without electricity anymore. We are, or were, suffering from the cost of this electrical energy”, celebrated Clécio.

“Imagine how much it costs to make a connection to a building in São Paulo, to energize that building with five thousand consumers, now imagine getting the energy there in Serra do Navio, where you know well, two hundred kilometers from the capital, the same cost for impoverished consumers. Imagine a country where the bill for the poorest is much higher than for those who can pay more”lamented the governor.

Clécio also said, with good humor, that “bothered” for seven months the minister Alexandre Silveira and who also sought out the ministers Ruy Costa It is Padilla, in addition to remembering Waldez’s support: “He integrated his ministry into this cause, which belongs to Minas Energia, but he put MIDR on the agenda and helped us find a plausible solution, which will help the whole of Brazil”, Clecio said.

As part of the round of thanks, Clécio cited Davi Alcolumbre, who was not present at the signing of the MP, but who, according to the governor of Amapá, has been working against the 44% increase in energy tariffs since its announcement. Randolfe was also greeted. “There was a combination of interests that helped Amapá”recalled Clécio.

“Today we look at the Provisional Measure for energy and renewable energy tariffs, we cannot fail to recognize the importance of prioritizing renewable energy and ensuring reasonable tariffs, especially in the North and Northeast regions”highlighted the governor.

Clécio said that the MP brings mitigating effects to tariff increases above inflation across the country. In Amapá, there was a forecast of 44% since September of last year. The governor also pointed out that the repayment of Covid Account loans and water scarcity have the potential to reduce tariffs by almost 4% by 2026, sufficient to cover the Social Electricity Tariff and universalization of all consumers in the country, characterizing the public interest.

Before ending his speech, the governor of Amapá predicted that for the Amazon COP, with the production of what he called the ‘Atlas’ of wind and solar energy, to be presented on the occasion, investments in the region should increase significantly. “By ensuring reasonable tariffs and promoting renewable energy, we are building a fairer, more prosperous and sustainable future for everyone”, concluded Clécio
