Deputy requested the effective implementation, by Ipaam, of the article of the Environmental Licensing Law that deals with Madeira Fished in the State

Manaus (AM) — Representative Adjuto Afonso (União Brasil) requested this Tuesday morning (9), in the plenary of the Legislative Assembly of Amazonas (Aleam), the effective implementation, by the Amazonas Environmental Protection Institute (Ipaam), of the article of Environmental licensing law that deals with Madeira Fished in the State.

During his speech, the deputy said that he will send a request to the body to regulate Article 11, of Law No. 3,785, of July 24, 2012, which deals with environmental licensing in the State of Amazonas.

“I am concerned and I make this appeal to Ipaam, which regulates the fishing of this wood because when our river floods, the banks give way and this wood ends up in the rivers, becoming stranded and making navigation impossible when the dry season arrives”,

he said.

Madeira Pescada is the term used for an activity aimed at the use of dead and fallen trees due to natural causes and carried by bodies of water that are drifting in rivers and streams or fallen in their beds, and can be freely reused, as long as it is confirmed by Ipaam its legality.

The deputy also explained that he was recently in the municipalities of the Purus channel and saw how much wood is on the route. According to him, this wood can be reused, but approval from Ipaam technicians is needed to give it the correct destination after fishing.

“If there is agility in regulations and Ipaam allows people in the interior to fish these woods, this will still contribute to the municipality’s economy. In Lábrea, for example, there is a furniture industry that manufactures school desks for the entire state through Seduc, and often does not have regulated wood. This removal of wood could be made available to these people. This would solve the navigation problem and would also generate income to benefit families who need wood to work”,

finished.
