Cianorte is experiencing a similar moment to Coritiba

Both were eliminated in the first phase of the Brazil’s Cup, they have a streak without winning and have defensive difficulties. Still, Coxa has not been beaten by Leão do Vale since 2017.
In the Copa do Brasil dispute, Cianorte lost 3-0 and was eliminated by Corinthians at the Willie Davids Stadium, in Maringá, where they played the game. Coxa, in turn, fell to Águia de Marabá, in a 3-1 defeat, in the city of the same name, in Pará.

With the defeats in the national competition, the two teams have gone four games without winning. In the State, they haven’t won since the eighth round, when Alviverde beat Galo Maringá, 3-1, and Leão do Vale beat Azuriz, 3-2.
Another similarity between the two teams is their defensive lack. In the first 12 games of the year, Coxa conceded 14 goals, double the number compared to the beginning of 2023, while Cianorte conceded 16.
Cianorte hasn’t beaten Coxa since 2017
In the first phase of Paranaense, the two teams faced each other in the seventh round and Alviverde emerged victorious away from home for the first time in the season. The match ended 1-0 for the visitor, with a goal from Robson.

The last time Leão do Vale beat Coxa was in 2017, in the first leg of the State semi-final, but Alviverde reversed the score at home and qualified for the final, winning the title over Athletico.
In the 31 matches played between Cianorte and Coritiba, the team from Alto da Glória won 21, while the team from the interior won only three, with seven draws.
Coritiba’s retrospective in the knockout stage
In the last three years, Coritiba only advanced to the quarterfinals in 2022, when they were champions. Last year, under the command of coach António Oliveira, the team fell precisely in the quarterfinals to Cascavel.
In 2020, the situation was even more critical and Alviverde did not qualify for the knockout stage, remaining in ninth place in the table. At the time, the coach was Gustavo Morínigo.
