Chamber of São Bernardo approves motion against Maduro coming – 05/31/2023 – Panel

The City Council of São Bernardo do Campo (SP) approved a motion to repudiate the visit of the Venezuelan dictator, Nicolás Maduro, to Brazil. The city is the political cradle of the PT and President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
“The Brazilian government, unfortunately, shames the country and the world by receiving such a repugnant figure in national territory. It is unacceptable that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and his administration open the doors to a regime that violates human rights, silences the opposition and plunges the neighboring country into a deep economic and social crisis”, says the request, presented by councilors Paulo Chuchu (PRTB), Julinho Fuzari (PSC), Jorge Araújo (PSD) and Lucas Ferreira (without party).
A motion was also approved to congratulate the US government for combating narcoterrorism operating in Brazil with origins in Venezuela.
