CEO talks about fans banned from entering Couto

[ad_1]

The CEO of Coritiba Carlos Amodeo spoke out for the first time about the ban of almost 2 thousand club fans, members and former members of Império and Dragões Alviverde, from entering Couto Pereira for a year.

The decision of the Court of Justice of Paraná (TJ-PR), a punishment due to the fights between Coxa and Cruzeiro fans in Vila Capanema, in November 2023, even affected children, the elderly and people who were not even at that match .

Amodeo thanked the peaceful atmosphere in the Atletiba classic this Sunday (18) and called the court’s decision “excessive”.

“I want to give a special thanks to the Coritiba fans who came to the stadium in large numbers and supported the club peacefully throughout the 100 minutes of the game. And to record for our fans the Coritiba board’s noncompliance with the excessive punishment by the judiciary for innocent Coritiba fans who did not participate at any point in the episodes that took place at the Durival de Britto e Silva Stadium”, stated the CEO, at a press conference.

Coritiba took a position for the first time, through a note, in the first week of the punishment, which is now more than 15 days old. The day before Atletiba, Coxa spoke out on the matter once again, citing that there are 344 women, as well as minors, included in the ban.

“Coritiba supports and believes that the exemplary punishment of those actual offenders is correct, but never the globalization of the penalty that affects innocent fans due to an abusive, comprehensive and excessive decision. Because of this, Coritiba will intensify its actions in defense of our greatest heritage that is our fans. Our fans cannot and should not continue to be punished and we will not rest until we change this scenario”, said Amodeo.

O OneTwo Sports He sought out the manager to understand what measures the club is taking in relation to the punished fans, but so far he has not received any feedback.

“Coritiba deeply regrets the excessive scope of the court decision that is preventing the Club’s fans from attending games at Couto Pereira.

Fans who had no connection with the episodes that occurred at the Durival de Brito Stadium in 2023 are prohibited from attending the games. This is not fair!

Common sense must prevail in the dosimetry of punishments. In this specific case, this does not happen, for example, because 344 women are prohibited from entering the stadium, without any woman being identified in the images of the riot that took place in 2023.

The penalty should be limited to individual offenders. It should never be expanded collectively, at the risk of unduly punishing innocent individuals.

Considering the seriousness of the issue, even though the club is not part of the legal action in which the decision was made, Coritiba will act together with all bodies involved in the matter, with the aim of defending the freedom to support all those innocent fans who are being unduly punished by the judiciary.

Tomorrow there will be a classic in which Coritiba, for reasons beyond its control and due to an abusive judicial decision, will be unable to count on the support of part of its fans.

The certainty is that the fans who will be present at Couto Pereira will peacefully support the team twice as much. They will represent those who are unduly punished because this is the fan base that never leaves.

Always together for Alto da Glória and for the freedom to cheer.”
