CBF makes Rodrigo Caetano official as new national team director

CBF confirmed this Friday (16) the hiring of Rodrigo Caetano as the new selection director. He is responsible for both the main and youth categories and will work very closely with coach Dorival Júnior.

Rodrigo Caetano had a meeting this Friday with the president of the CBF, Ednaldo Rodrigues, in which the hiring became official.

Caetano arrives at CBF with the mission of hiring new professionals for the national team board, especially in restructuring the base.

The director will repeat in the main team the partnership with coach Dorival Júnior, which has already happened in some clubs, such as Flamengo. Dorival was already aware of the CBF’s movement and liked the name.

Rodrigo Caetano’s arrival at CBF leaves a gap in his role as football director at Atlético-MG, where he has been since 2021.

The president of the CBF, Ednaldo Rodrigues, decided to hire a national team director after spending the year accumulating the role, since the departure of Juninho Paulista.

By delegating tasks to Rodrigo Caetano, Ednaldo gives him the opportunity to assemble the work team, especially the new base coordinator and the national team coaches.
Branco is leaving after a poor campaign in the Pre-Olympics, as is Ramon Menezes, who was in charge of Brazil’s under-20 and under-23 teams.
