Councilor requested information about investigations involving family members

Brasilia DF) – The Federal Police (PF) is investigating whether councilor Carlos Bolsonaro (Republicanos-RJ) used advisors to illegally request information through the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin). The suspicion is in the investigation report that was the basis of this Monday’s operation (29) against the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro.

In one of the messages obtained by investigators, Luciana Almeida, identified as an advisor to Carlos Bolsonaro, contacts Priscila Pereira e Silva, identified as an advisor to the former director of Abin Alexandre Ramagem, to request “help” from the “parallel Abin”.

According to the WhatsApp message, which is part of the investigation, the request involved data about the investigations against Jair Bolsonaro and his children.

“Good morning. All good? I really need help. PF Delegate. Dr. Isabela Muniz Ferreira – PF Office Special Inquiries Inquiries: 73,630 / 73,637 (Involving PR and 3 children). Clerk: Henry Basílio Moura”,

says the message.

After evaluating the seized material, the PF began to suspect that contacts between Carlos Bolsonaro and Ramagem were made through his advisors.

“It is noteworthy that, as can be seen from IPJ 183071/2024, communication between those investigated. Alexandre Ramagem and Carlos Bolsonaro is done primarily through their respective advisors”,

says the PF in the report.

In the decision in which he authorized the searches and seizures against Carlos Bolsonaro and others involved in the investigation, Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), argues that the evidence obtained so far demonstrates the existence of a “criminal organization” to carry out clandestine actions at Abin.

“The evidence collected so far indicates, significantly, that the criminal organization infiltrated in Abin also used illegal methods to carry out clandestine actions directed against people ideologically qualified as opponents, as well as to unduly monitor the progress of investigations in the face of political allies”,

wrote Moraes.

On Thursday (21), the minister also authorized searches against federal deputy Alexandre Ramagem (PL-RJ), former general director of Abin during Jair Bolsonaro’s government.

According to the process, Ramagem, police officers and PF delegates who were assigned to Abin, in addition to the agency’s employees, would have participated in a criminal organization to illegally monitor public authorities. The case is known as “parallel Abin”.

Defense

On social media, federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro, brother of the councilor, classified the operation as an “illegal act, as well as “immoral”.

“This state of affairs cannot continue, a court order cannot be expanded in this way. This is an illegal act, as well as immoral,” she declared.
