In 2023, Amapá, the home state of deputy Acácio Favacho, faced major clashes and controversies related to adjustments in electricity tariffs.
The parliamentarian, in addition to all the coordination with meetings with authorities in the sector, filed projects with the aim of protecting and ensuring the consumer rights of the people of Amapá and Brazil.
Bill 4285/23 aimed to prevent the immediate cancellation of electricity, without prior notice, to beneficiaries of the Social Tariff Program (TSEE), which allows the granting of discounts to low-income consumers eligible for CadÚnico or the Benefit of Continuous Payment (BPC).
Favacho also presented project 5615/23, which reduces the statute of limitations for electricity bills and other general services from ten to five years. Project 5865/23, also authored by him, prohibits suspension of electricity supply due to non-payment of consumption due to an error in meter reading, unless fraud is proven in the meter assigned to the consumer.
Acácio Favacho also had project 4239/23, which proposes the prohibition of the formulation of a request filed by certain legal entities within the scope of Special Civil Courts by large companies.
Furthermore, the deputy from Amapá presented Bill 3875/23, which amends the Consolidation of Labor Laws (CLT), dealing with the prohibition of discounting food allowance during vacation periods, absence from work with working hours compensation or use of time banks and justified absences.
As part of the protection of digital fraud, the parliamentarian filed Bill 3800/23, which doubles the penalty for embezzlement with the use of artificial intelligence known as AI.
