Brazilian Guilherme Madruga won the Puskás award, offered by FIFA (International Football Federation) for the goal considered the most beautiful of the season.
The move that won him the trophy occurred in Series B of the Brazilian Championship, in June. Wearing the Botafogo-SP shirt, the midfielder hit a bicycle kick from outside the area and hit Novorizontino’s net.
Announced this Monday (15) as a reinforcement for Cuiabá, the 23-year-old athlete was thrilled to receive the award. “I never imagined I would be here with my idols,” he said, in an enthusiastic speech.
