Marlon Gomes and Pirani gave Brazil the lead in the second half

Manaus (AM) – The Brazilian team beat Ecuador 2-1, this Monday (29), and qualified for the final quadrangular of the Pre-Olympic Tournament one round in advance. Ramon Menezes’ Brazil is the only team with a 100% record in the competition. Marlon Gomes and Pirani scored the goals at the Brígido Iriarte Stadium, in Caracas, Venezuela.

The victory elevated Amarelinha to the leadership of Group A with nine points, followed by Ecuador, with seven, Venezuela, with two, Bolivia, which has one, and Colombia, which has not yet scored in the competition.

Next Thursday (1), Brazil will face Venezuela in the last game of the first phase of the Pre-Olympic Tournament, at 8 pm, at the Brígido Iriarte Stadium, in Caracas, Venezuela.

The game

Throughout the first half, Endrick and Khellven had the clearest chances to score. The striker received a cross from Alexsander and headed it wide, while the right-back forced a save from the Ecuadorian goalkeeper by shooting inside the area.

Ecuador’s goal came from Market’s feet, who finished from the edge of the area. The ball deflected and took away Mycael’s chance to save, 13 minutes into the second half.

In the 19th minute, Endrick made a good move inside the area and crossed for Marlon Gomes, free, to equalize the score for Brazil.

Called up by Ramon Menezes in the middle of the second half, Pirani won the challenge inside the area and shot into the corner to put Brazil ahead, in the 29th minute of the final stage.
