The Federal Police sent a letter to the Chamber of Councilors of Boa Vista (RR) demanding information on the use of compensation funds by all parliamentarians.

The objective is to inform an ongoing investigation into possible deviations in the use of values.

The Panel found that investigators have evidence of irregularities in the use of funds and a lack of transparency in their availability.

The request was forwarded to the president of the Chamber, Genilson Costa (Solidarity).

“The Federal Police in Roraima requests the sending of a full copy of all invoices, monthly accountability reports, in addition to administrative processes and possible investigations regarding the payment of compensation funds to the councilors who make up the staff of the Boa Vista City Council “, says the request signed by four delegates.

In 2021, the Chamber approved an increase from R$28,300 to R$35,000 in the monthly amount to be spent by each of the 23 councilors.

In 2022, the amount was reduced to R$32 thousand, but, in November of the same year, it returned to R$35 thousand allocated to each parliamentarian.

When contacted, the City Council did not respond to the Panel’s questions.
