Manaus (AM) – The councilor of the Manaus City Council (CMM), Dr. Eduardo Assis (Avante), announced this Friday (01), that a Bill (PL) No. 549/2023 that requires pumps of gas stations in Manaus to have a flow display. The objective is to inhibit possible adulteration in the fuel or supposed quantity that differs from the amount paid by the consumer.
According to the municipal parliamentarian, the PL initiative came about after several complaints from drivers who were feeling harmed by some stations.
“The fuel flow display is to give more guarantee and transparency to the consumer, in this case drivers, who often when refueling their vehicle are in doubt as to whether or not the amount of gasoline is passing through the hose, through the gun. that fuels the car or motorcycle. So with this transparent display it will provide more safety to the driver”,
explains.
According to consumer complaints that arrive at the Consumer Protection Commission of the Chamber of Manaus (Comdec/CMM), chaired by Dr. Eduardo Assis, the number of victims of alleged fraud involving gas stations with adulterated gasoline and smaller amounts that were actually paid.
For the councilor, this project is another inspection instrument in favor of the consumer.
“Our main interest is to inhibit abuses, to end so many frauds that surround this type of service for citizens”,
