Men who combine action with their good ideas tend to go down in history. For this reason, we must raise a pedestal to the memory of the club’s former president over three terms, in which he achieved extraordinary feats.

Born in 1899, Candido Mäder He was an Internacional player alongside his brothers Hugo and Erasmo. He soon became a director of the club and, as such, participated in the merger process with América that gave rise to Athletico, being one of those who signed the founding minutes on March 26, 1924.

He was the club’s second president and responsible for the first title won in the club’s second year of existence, although the finals were played in January 1926.

In his second term, in 1933, he negotiated the definitive acquisition of the Baixada land in exchange with the government of intervener Manoel Ribas, giving in exchange for the Juvevê land where one of the campuses from UFPR.

That same year, he decided to go “into shock” against the sporting pettiness of a brother in the famous Atletiba da Gripe, when Rubro-Negro became known as the “race club”. As if that were not enough, this same year, in addition to the second regional title, Cashewthe club’s biggest legend, debuted with the Atleticana shirt.

In his third and longest period at the helm of CAP, he inaugurated the first concrete grandstand in the country in Baixada, a great innovation in its time. On the field, the club became champions in 1935 and 1939 and, in the last year, it launched a magazine called “Rubro-Negro” to record this glorious period in its history.

Dido Mäder passed away in the historic year of 1968, and as the last feat of her legacy, she instilled in her descendants the love for Athletico.
