Amapá continues to win medals at the Brazilian University Games (JUB’s) 2023. This time, Amapá native Julio Soares, a Civil Engineering academic at the Federal Institute of Amapá (IFAP), won a bronze medal in Jiu-Jitsu, in Joinville (SC).
This is the first time that the Amapá native has won a medal in a national event, in the sport. Julio has a brown belt in jiu-jitsu and judo, in which he holds the title of state champion this year.
Julio is part of the sports social project Sport is Security – Discovery of Talents, which operates at the Integrated Training and Improvement Academy (AIFA), in the Mara Baixo 3 neighborhood. More than 2 thousand students have already been through the project.
