Amapá has always shown its capacity in parasports competitions and one of them is the School Paralympics, which ended this Friday (01), in São Paulo. The Amapá delegation won 56 medals, 29 gold, 17 silver and 10 bronze.

The highlight was the three para-athletes from Laranjal do Jari, Professor Hamilton’s team, who won seven medals. Para-athlete Erick Costa broke the Brazilian record in the shot put, with a mark of 22.6 m.

Another highlight from Orange is Emanuel, who trained for just four days in Macapá and has already pleased the scouts of the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB). He was invited to the Paralympic School Camp, which provides young athletes, aged between 12 and 17, their first contact with the routine of a high-performance athlete.

Last year, Amapá won 55 medals in the national stage. In August this year, at the regional stage, in Belém (PA), the Amapá delegation won 74 medals.
