The Public Defender’s Office of Amapá (DPE-AP) receives at its administrative headquarters, in Macapá, the national councils of General Public Defenders (Condege) and the General Inspectors of the Public Defender’s Office (CNCG) for an open event this Thursday, 21st, ending today, 22nd.

At the event, the lecture ‘Strategic planning and institutional strengthening: an intersectional analysis for expanding the Public Defender’s Office of Amapá’ was given by public defender Ricardo Oliveira, to better understand the DPE-AP reality.

“There are two moments of exchanging experiences, each defender brings their best practices, projects and ideas on how they are revolutionizing Justice, to democratize access. In this conversation we collected good practices to also replicate in our defender offices to improve the service provided”he spoke José Rodrigues, the general public defender of Amapá, who was reappointed to the position, through election, and who takes office in the early evening of this Friday.

Oleno Matos, president of Condege, said he was happy with the occasion and celebrated the ceremony to be held for the second time in Amapá. “We are very happy to be welcomed by José and his team. We will also have the presence of the Ministry of Justice, through the National Secretariat for Access to Justice, where a range of agreements for defenders will be presented with the aim of democratizing free legal provision”said the head of the Condege, who also celebrated the presence of the College of Corregedores and the National Association of Public Defenders to deal with the legislative and Judiciary agenda regarding the Public Defender’s Office.

“Here in Amapá, the CNCG is taking place, an event that brings together the inspectors of all national public defender offices. It is the first time that it has occurred in the state, together with the inauguration of the board. Amapá was chosen to host this event precisely because it is the youngest Public Defender’s Office in Brazil, and also because it is becoming a reference at the national level”declared Eduardo dos Anjos, general inspector of the DPE-AP, also reappointed to the position.

Also this Friday, the 22nd, the 83rd Ordinary Meeting of the Council will take place, with the purpose of strengthening the democratic order and guaranteeing full and free access to Justice. And at 6pm, in the auditorium of the Regional Electoral Court of the North Zone, the ceremony will take place for the reappointment of the general public defender and the general public inspector of Amapá, respectively José Rodrigues and Eduardo Pereira dos Anjos, for the 2024-2026 biennium.
