Amapá and Italy have in common the focus on bioeconomy, which seeks economic development combined with environmental preservation. The State Government and the European country are working on a cooperation plan to strengthen trade relations between the two sides, which will allow expanding the export of tucuju products to Europe.

To deal with the matter, the deputy governor, Teles Júnior, and the Secretary of State for International Relations and Foreign Trade, Lucas Abrahao, were received by the head of the Commercial Department, Davide Castellani, and by the scientific attaché Fabio Naro, at the Embassy of Italy, in Brasilia, on Thursday, 22.

The cooperation plan is expected to be formalized in October 2023 and involves studies on different productive chains in Amapá that need investments to grow. The project is part of the State Government’s actions to boost economic development, generating jobs and income for the population.

“Italy is the leading bioeconomy country in Europe and the leader in clean energy generation. In addition, our Italian design can cooperate with certified wood from the Amazon, just as we can exchange experiences regarding buffalo mozzarella. We have many opportunities to work together.” scored Castellani.

Teles Júnior stressed that the benefits are for both sides and that the experiences of the European country can contribute for Amapá to invest in other sectors of the economy.

“Italy has a lot to contribute to Amapá in what they are world leaders in, such as technology, dairy products and fashion”added the deputy governor.
