This Wednesday, the 28th, the agreement between the Legislative Assembly of the State of Amapá (Alap) and the Casa da Hospitalidade, located in Santana, was renewed. The new Development Term was signed by the president of Alap, deputy Aliny Serrão (União), and by Sister Arituza Botaro, director of the institution, in a simple ceremony that took place in the internal courtyard of the House, with the presence of authorities and people welcomed.

“It is a great joy to be able to be president of the Assembly and be present here at Casa da Hospitalidade, confirming this commitment of the state parliament to this institution that is so important and that has provided social support to these children and adults who need it so much. On behalf of the Legislative Assembly, we record our gratitude and also the reaffirmation of our entire commitment”emphasizes the president of the Legislature.

Alap and Casa da Hospitalidade have maintained the agreement since 2017. Linked to the Diocese of Macapá, the Casa has existed for more than 40 years, and for three decades it has been administered by the Congregation of the Little Sisters of Divine Providence, based in Minas General. The institution’s service is focused on High Complexity, serving people of all ages with mental problems and also children in socially vulnerable situations.

Currently, the house has 90 people hosted, more than a third of whom are children and teenagers, with or without disabilities. “We already have the support of the State Government; several deputies take up our cause, and also the Legislative Assembly. This resource will make a big difference in continuing what we do with lots of love and dedication”, recalls the nun.

Also present at the ceremony were deputies Edna Auzier (PSD) and Pastor Oliveira (Rep), and the promoter of Children and Youth of Santana, José Barreto. “The institution, like any other, faces financial problems, it always has. The demand is very high. The reestablishment of the partnership with the Legislative Assembly, with the signing of this Development Term, improves the conditions of the people welcomed here and is a demonstration of sensitivity on the part of the Legislative Branch, through President Aline, who, when we spoke to her, was willing to help not only to this one, but to other institutions”, points out the representative of the Public Ministry.
