The plenary session of the Legislative Assembly of Amapá (Alap) this Wednesday, 21st, was marked by the approval of two bills that establish commemorative dates in the state’s official calendar. The proposals recognize the importance of the work of elderly caregivers and oral health technicians and assistants, in addition to honoring other areas and professionals.

Deputy Telma Nery

Bill No. 0314/2023, authored by the deputy Telma Nery (Citizenship), establishes ‘State Elderly Caregiver Day’, to be celebrated annually on October 1st. The deputy justifies that, from this expanded perspective of care, the role of the caregiver goes beyond mere daily assistance, covering healthy, sick or bedridden elderly people, in situations of risk or frailty, both in homes and in institutions that require daily attention or care.

Another approved project was nº 0319/2023, proposed by deputy Jack JK, which establishes the ‘State Day for Oral Health Technicians and Assistants’. The date chosen for celebration is December 8th, in honor of the law that regulates these professions. “It is important that society knows the role and importance of these oral health professionals”argues the author.

Still during the session, almost 60 requests were approved, with emphasis on requests to hold solemn sessions. Deputy Jesus Pontes (PDT) will pay tribute to the photographers in a solemn session on March 1st.

Deputies Alliny Serrão (União) and Aldilene Souza (PDT) will also request a formal session to honor the ten years since the founding of the Inova Institute, scheduled for March 15th.

Representative Edna Auzier (PSD) obtained approval to hold a formal session on March 22, at 9 am, in reference to Rurap’s 50th anniversary in Amapá.
