Amom says he will give a management shock, whose priority will be investment in education, health, security and infrastructure

Federal deputy Amom Mandel (Cidadania) launched, this Friday morning (23), the pre-candidacy for mayor of Manaus, by the PSDB-Cidadania federation, in an event that brought together more than 600 people, in the North Zone of Manaus . As a priority in his government plan, he promised to “liberate city hall” with a management shock and redefinition of priorities.

Under Amom’s management, actions will be aimed at sectors essential to the population with the best applicability of public spending.

“We will drastically reduce public spending, ruthlessly combating corruption and waste. Let’s have a management shock, redefine priorities within City Hall. The priority will no longer be painting and facade work, but rather investing heavily in education, health and social projects that actually improve the quality of life of our people”, he explained.

Government Plan

Amom believes that currently the city hall has a “rotten system”, in which corrupt groups have set up shop and have diverted resources and are being investigated by the Federal Police.

He decided to be a candidate to “free the City Hall” from the Almeida family and give citizens their rights again: to have their own home, the mother to put her children in daycare and even the student to have a quality education, a snack healthy.

Furthermore, the pre-candidate will focus on urban mobility in Manaus. The city will be paved with quality asphalt, and traffic engineering, which does not currently exist in the capital, will be rethought.

Let’s work and help the state in combating violence, especially on buses. Let’s do it differently than anything else out there. The City Hall will be for the people and no longer for a family group, for a group of friends of the former boy from the hill”, said Amom.

Starting today, Amom begins a circuit to go to neighborhoods in the city and communities in the rural area of ​​Manaus to collect proposals to consolidate the government’s plan.

At this Friday’s event, Amom announced the name of the professor at the Federal University of Amazonas (Ufam), Daniel Gerhard, who will coordinate his government plan, together with experts in all areas of City Hall’s activities.

Decision change

The Cidadania pre-candidate revealed that in December last year he did not intend to be a candidate for mayor, as he said in a video posted on his social networks. At the time, Amom suffered anonymous intimidation because of a complaint he made to the Federal Police about a scheme within the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) with criminal organizations.

After making the situation public and managing to guarantee his safety, together with the research – which even puts him in the lead –, he decided on the candidacy. “I cannot disappoint thousands of people who believe in me, who like my work and who want to change the leadership of City Hall.”

PSDB support

President of the PSDB in Amazonas, Senator Plínio Valério, was present at the launch ceremony, where he reinforced support for Amom Mandel’s pre-candidacy for municipal elections. According to Plínio Valério, Ammon would be a ‘hope’ for the Manauaras.
