The AGU (Attorney General’s Office) dismissed this Friday (16) from the position of coordinator in the Management and Calculation Directorate of the Federal Attorney General’s Office the civil servant who participated in the ministerial meeting of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) on the 5th of July 2022, when coup-related protests were made.

The agency also said that it opened a “preliminary investigation, of an investigative nature, to verify whether there was a disciplinary transgression” on the part of the server.

Adler Anaximandro Alves, who at the time was AGU’s general secretary of Consulting, was one of the members of the meeting, in which the head, Bruno Bianco, was also present — who left AGU and is now in the private sector.

At the meeting, Bolsonaro and his assistants clearly discuss coup scenarios.

“I’m going to take the field using my Army, my 23 ministers (…) We can’t wait for 23 to arrive, look back and say: what didn’t we do for Brazil to reach the situation it is today?” , said Bolsonaro at that meeting, according to the transcript made by the PF.

The video, according to the investigation, was stored on a computer seized from Mauro Cid, then head of Bolsonaro’s order assistance and now a collaborator in the investigations.

Adler did not speak at the meeting, only Bianco.

“The Attorney General’s Office (AGU) informs that it has opened a preliminary investigation, of an investigative nature, to verify whether there was a disciplinary transgression in the participation of federal prosecutor Adler Anaximander de Cruz e Alves, then secretary general of AGU Consulting, in the ministerial meeting on 07/05/22 in which discussions of coup content were held”, said the organization, in a note.

The purpose of the procedure, he states, is to gather within 60 days “the elements necessary to form a judgment of conviction by the competent authority for the initiation of any disciplinary proceedings”.

Adler received questions from Sheet about his participation in the meeting, but did not comment until the publication of this report.

On the 8th, the Federal Police launched Operation Tempus Veritatis to investigate a criminal organization that allegedly participated in the attempted coup d’état and the abolition of the democratic rule of law. Bolsonaro is one of the targets.

Taking place in a context of strong offensive by the former president against the fairness of electronic voting machines, the government summit meeting was attended by, among others, the then head of the GSI (Institutional Security Office), Augusto Heleno, the then minister of Justice, Anderson Torres, and the then Minister of Defense, Paulo Sergio Nogueira.

“The description of the meeting on July 5, 2022, clearly reveals the arrangement of coup dynamics, within the scope of the highest government leadership, with all those investigated who took part in it expressing themselves in order to validate and amplify the massive disinformation and fraudulent narratives about the elections and electoral justice”, wrote Alexandre de Moraes, from the STF (Supreme Federal Court), in his decision.
