Last weekend, the finals of the 12th edition of the Açaí Football Cup took place in the Bailique district. The games took place at Arena Açaí and received support from the State Department of Sports and Leisure (Sedel).
The finals were played in the Under-17, Under-12 and adult (male and female) categories. More than 10 teams participated in the competition, which started at the end of 2023. The event brought together several people to follow the matches.
In the under-12 category, Carneiro’s team won Loteamento Açaí 2-1 and won the competition title. “I thank Cote, who encouraged us to participate in the competition, Sedel and everyone who came to support us. We won and it was by God”, said the captain of the champion team, Enzo Kauê.
In the adult male category, Jaranduba’s team beat Buritizal 2-1. The team is a three-time champion of the competition. “I’m very proud. We came out with the victory and, God willing, the support can remain firm in these competitions in Bailique”, said Samuel Barbosa, winner of the champion team.
The girls from Vila Progresso won Loteamento Açaí 3-0 and won the title in the adult category. “I’m very happy, because my team won the Açaí Cup. We thank everyone who was with us, who attended the event”, said Danielle Vilhena, a member of the team.
In the under-17 category, Igarapé do Meio beat Vila Progresso 2-0. The winners received trophies, medals and cash.
