Zona Franca is fundamental for economy and environmental conservation, says Antonio Silva

Manaus (AM) – “The Manaus Free Trade Zone is a matter of interest not only for Amazonas, but also for the country. It plays a fundamental role in generating employment and income, economic development and environmental conservation in the region”.

This statement was made by the president of the Federation of Industries of the State of Amazonas (FIEAM), Antonio Silva, who has been following the actions of Governor Wilson Lima and the parliamentarians of the Amazonas bench in favor of the cause of economic and technological development in the region through the Zona Franca de Manaus (ZFM).

Silva pointed out that the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) has discussed and had support for the Tax Reform to bring neutrality in relation to the tax incentives in force in the ZFM and, thus, avoid greater damage to the enterprises implemented here.

“Not only that, we want to maintain the attractiveness, so that we can continue to be competitive both internally and in relation to imports. Otherwise, the ZFM will be greatly impacted, with repercussions for the entire Western Amazon region and Amapá”,
