Manaus (AM) – With the title “Different Views on the World”, Colégio Martha Falcão launches, this Saturday morning (28), another edition of the book Novos Talentos, a collection of texts written by students. The event will take place at 8:30 am, in the Nelson Falcão auditorium, located at the institution’s headquarters, at Avenida Salvador, 455, Adrianópolis. This year, the project turns 23 years old and celebrates encouraging reading and writing, as well as giving a voice to children and teenagers.

The director of Colégio Martha Falcão, professor Nelly Falcão de Souza, highlights that Novos Talentos is just one of the institution’s initiatives carried out throughout the year and which seeks to broaden horizons and introduce a new universe to its students.

And it is this perspective of the world that this year’s New Talents edition will translate into words. The book brings the perspective of elementary and high school students on concerns regarding social and environmental problems.

“In addition, reading and writing also contribute to the development of concentration, memory, reasoning and understanding, stimulates oral language and expands the creative capacity of our children and young people”,

comments the educator.

The preface to this year’s book was written by Amazonian professor Raimunda Gil Schaeken. During the launch of Novos Talentos, the educator will also be launching a book written by her, “Feliz Por Ser Professora”.

Raimunda is a member of the Amazonas Writers Association (ASSEAM), the Brazilian Association of Pan-Amazonian Writers and Poets (ABEPPA), the Amazonas Academy of Letters, Sciences and Arts, the Brazilian Journalists and Writers Association (AJEB), from the Academy of Letters and Cultures of the Amazon, and the Academy of Letters of Brazil/AM.

“In Novos Talentos, the texts from the first years of Elementary School, children talk about the expression of love and personal happiness, love for school, where solidarity, respect, love and care for nature are learned”,

tells the teacher.

Next, the texts express concern about hunger, violence, bullying in schools, and war between nations.

“And they bring suggestions on how to save the world, sowing love, helping others, caring for animals and the planet”,

said Raimunda.

High school students highlighted the impacts of social invisibility and intolerance. The texts suggest the need for dialogue between society and the State, in addition to actions aimed at raising awareness among the population, especially youth, regarding human rights and duties, and social and salary inequality in Brazil.
