Donation will help with the purchase of basic food baskets, construction materials and water collection and treatment systems, medicines and gallons of water

Manaus (AM) – The Fundação Amazônia Sustentável (FAS), through Aliança Amazônia Clima, has just received a donation of the full value of DJ Alok’s show, which will be held on November 1st, in Manaus (AM), to serve riverside populations from Amazonas who are experiencing the challenges of extreme drought. The donation is made possible through the Alok Institute, which will help with the purchase of basic food baskets, materials for construction and a water collection and treatment system, medicines and gallons of water.

According to Victor Salviati, superintendent of Innovation and Institutional Development at FAS, “this is the picture of climate injustice: those who contributed least to global warming are those who suffer the most. DJ Alok’s support will join an active solidarity network to guarantee food, hygiene items, and water for the population suffering the impacts of drought at this challenging time.”

Faced with a severe drought season, civil society organizations joined together in the initiative called Aliança Amazônia Clima, coordinated by the Fundação Amazônia Sustentável. In this joint action, the alliance is raising donations of essential items and distributing them to the communities most affected by the drought.

How to help

Aliança Amazônia Clima is collecting non-perishable food, drinking water and financial amounts to purchase basic necessities in support of communities affected by the extreme drought in the region. Donations can be delivered to the FAS headquarters, located at Rua Álvaro Braga, 351, Parque Dez neighborhood, in Manaus (AM). Financial contributions can be made using the PIX key 03351359000188 – Fundação Amazônia Sustentável and via the website bit.ly/doe-amazonia.
