Residents of Residencial Jardim Açucena, in the south zone of Macapá, can now enjoy the new Sports Complex and Family Space built by Macapá City Hall (PMM), with an investment of R$ 1.2 million resulting from a parliamentary amendment by the state deputy Junior Favacho (MDB). The work, which covers approximately 4,088 square meters, was completed in less than 80 days and is expected to benefit around five thousand people.

The services carried out include the installation of an outdoor gym, renovation of the sports court and two sand volleyball courts with fences, lawn, implementation of drainage systems, paving with tactile flooring and construction of a Family Space – in areas other than housing – equipped with benches, trash cans, slides, checkers and chess tables, swings, seesaws, bars, fut table and ping pong table, as well as a Pet Drinking Fountain. Various paintings and revitalization of the Community Center were also carried out.

Deputy Júnior Favacho expressed his satisfaction with the efficient use of the resources allocated for his mandate by Mayor Dr. Furlan, highlighting the benefits that this partnership brings to the population.

“When I decided to allocate my parliamentary amendments, 50% of them went to Macapá, because I know how serious Dr. Furlan’s management is. I asked that part of these resources be used in the South zone, where I grew up, and we decided to invest in the construction of this Sports Complex. Less than 80 days ago, we were here to launch the work, and today we are present to inaugurate this wonderful space that will bring benefits to the population and a better quality of life for our families”, said Favacho.

Júnior Favacho took advantage of the speech to announce the allocation of another amendment worth R$800,000 for the implementation of inclusive public policies for people on the Autism Spectrum. “This partnership with the city hall has already done a lot for Macapá and will continue to do even more”, he concluded.

In addition to the presence of the parliamentarian, the delivery ceremony was attended by Mayor Dr. Furlan, First Lady Rayssa Furlan, councilors, local residents and municipal authorities. Dr. Furlan highlighted the importance of these spaces in promoting the health and well-being of the community.

“There are approximately five thousand residents. Residents were without leisure, sports and entertainment equipment. We decided to enter housing and provide these quality spaces and, consequently, promote the health and well-being of everyone”, stated Furlan.

The president of the Residential Association of Jardim Açucena, Carlos Silva, expressed his excitement about the revitalization of the space, highlighting the relevance of these improvements for the community, especially for children. “I’m thrilled. Anyone who lives in Residencial knows the struggles, the difficulties and how much we needed a revitalized space. Many children live in this area.”
