Bolsonarist who killed PT member at party in PR is fired – 03/19/2024 – Power

The Minister of Justice, Ricardo Lewandowski, fired, this Tuesday (19), the criminal police officer Jorge José da Rocha Guaranho, defendant accused of murdering the municipal guard and municipal treasurer of the PT Marcelo Aloizio de Arruda, in 2022, in Foz do Iguaçu (PR).

The dismissal was made in the context of a Disciplinary Administrative Process (PAD), initiated at the time to investigate the actions of the agent, who was then a member of the federal penitentiary of Catanduvas, in Paraná.

The case happened when the police invaded the celebration of Arruda’s 50th birthday, in July of that year, whose theme was the PT. According to the Public Ministry of Paraná (MP-PR), the crime — committed months before the 2022 elections — was politically motivated.

Guaranho was fired for using the department’s material resources in a private activity, committing an act of administrative improbity and public incontinence (when there is behavior of a serious nature carried out publicly).

In the decision, the minister understood that violent and life-threatening conduct is incompatible with administrative morality, in addition to violating the institutional values ​​of police activity. Among the infractions, Guaranho also used his professional weapon to commit the crime.

In the criminal sphere, Guaranho is accused of committing double homicide. The case against the agent is on the agenda of the Jury Court on April 4th.

Remember the case

Criminal police officer Jorge José da Rocha Guaranho invaded the birthday party of municipal guard and PT activist Marcelo Arruda, shooting dead the treasurer, on July 9, 2022 in Foz do Iguaçu.

According to reports to the police at the time, Guaranho drove past the party hall saying “This is Bolsonaro” and “Lula the thief”, in addition to swearing.

He left after a quick discussion and said he would return. Upon returning, the police officer invaded the party room and shot Arruda. The PT member, already injured on the ground, also shot the Bolsonaro member. A security camera recorded the crime.

Guaranho was indicted on suspicion of double homicide. According to the police, on Saturday afternoon, the day of the crime, the officer was at a barbecue and there he found out about the PT themed party. Faced with this, he decided to act. Another guest at the barbecue was an employee of the club where Marcelo had rented the party room and, therefore, had access to the security cameras.
