Manaus (AM) – The commitment to making Manaus an increasingly sporting city involves the initiative to serve all audiences. With that in mind, the Manaus Sports Foundation (FME) is preparing the traditional Senior Olympics, which is now in its 23rd edition and is scheduled to take place from September 26th to October 4th.
Annually, the sporting event brings together competitors from the age of 50, male and female, who compete in activities in a recreational and competitive environment, promoting a socio-educational activity through socialization among the elderly public.
“Maintaining tradition, FME is very excited to promote another remarkable edition of this event. We think it is the perfect opportunity for integration among senior citizens, using sport as a socio-educational tool. And of course, with a competitive spirit, which is important. It will be a success”,
reported Alexandre Maciel, CEO of FME.
Modalities
The options for modalities are diverse: gerontovolleyball, table tennis, bowling, free throw in the basket, bat in the puck, target launch, ring game, swimming, dominoes, mesh game, goal kick, futpenalti, boccia, athletics and dance competition, in addition to the closing dance.
