Martell gained fame in Spanish justice, mainly in Catalonia. He led the defense of former regional prime minister Jordi Pujol on the corruption charge, accompanied Lionel Messi when he was accused of tax fraud, and represented Barcelona in the so-called “Neymar case”. The lawyer also helped Álvaro Lapuerta and Javier Martínez de la Rosa in their respective cases of economic crimes.
This Tuesday, Daniel Alves was transferred from prison for “security”. His pre-trial detention was determined by the risk of fleeing.
