Manaus (AM) – Continuing with the objective of expanding female access to women’s health services, the City of Manaus informs that the Mobile Unit that was in operation at the Magdalena Arce Daou Family Community Center, in the Santo Antônio neighborhood, in the West zone, will be open from this Tuesday (21st), at Rua Urandi, 426 and 446, close to the Catholic Church of Christ the Redeemer, in the Alvorada neighborhood. The structure is expected to remain in place until December 1st.

The unit, which serves women in the West Zone, is one of three mobile structures managed by the Municipal Health Department (Semsa), in operation since August, with the aim of strengthening women’s health with medical and nursing consultations. , collection of preventive exams for cervical cancer, mammography, ultrasound, rapid tests to detect Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), reproductive planning, medication dispensing and other health services.

The municipal secretary of Health, Shádia Fraxe, highlights that the expansion of mobile health structures in the primary care network was a significant step taken by Mayor David Almeida’s administration so that early detection of cervical cancer, breast cancer and other conditions that threaten female health are reinforced.

“Mobile units play a fundamental role in the early detection of diseases and contribute to ensuring that, in addition to offering services, other prevention actions, such as guidance on family planning, the importance of vaccination and prenatal care, are emphasized in neighborhoods and communities covered by the units”,

declares Shádia.

The Mobile Women’s Health unit that serves the North zone remains in the first stage of the Viver Melhor 1 complex, on Avenida da Conquista s/n, close to the fair, until November 24th.

The unit that serves the female population in the East zone, which began offering its health services at the Centro Educacional de Tempo Integral (Ceti), on Jatubú Street, in the East zone of the capital, on November 13th, also remains at this address until November 24th.
