“We want to be champions”

First and only reinforcement of the Coritiba in the window so far, the steering wheel Morelli talked about the expectations for the debut in Serie B.

According to the player, Coxa will fight not only for access to the elite, but wants to fight for the Second Division title.

“We have been training very hard. The teacher has adapted us to his game concept. So I believe that the objective will be completed at the end of the year. The first is access, but we want to be champion of Series B. Let’s go do my best on the field”, said Morelli to the club’s channel.

Announced at the beginning of the week by Alviverde, the midfielder was one of Maringá’s highlights in the runner-up campaign in the Campeonato Paranaense.

In the semifinals, the team eliminated Alviverde at Couto Pereira. Morelli, who already had an agreement with the club, was on the field.

“I can’t wait [de conhecer a torcida]. We faced each other recently, there was a moment in the game when I stopped watching them singing, encouraging. I want to feel this moment inside Couto Pereira”, he said.

Morelli has been at Dogão since the beginning of 2023, but spent the season on loan at Goiás. Before that, he also played for Cianorte.

“It’s a pleasure to be able to defend the Coritiba shirt. I always played against them and I wanted to be on that side. It was an immense pleasure when they contacted me and there was no way to say no”, declared the midfielder.

Coritiba debuts in Série B on Friday (19), away from home, against Ponte Preta. The departure time has not yet been announced. The first match at Couto Pereira will be in the second round, against Brusque.
