Volta Redonda scores and puts pressure on Botafogo and Vasco; see missing games

If anyone still doubted that Volta Redonda would remain firm and strong until the end in the fight for a place in the semifinals of Carioca, it is better to review your concepts. The team thrashed Bangu 4-0 this Sunday, returned to the G4 with two rounds to go, and put pressure on Botafogo and Vasco, direct competitors of Voltaço.

The result took Volta Redonda to third place, with 16 points, the same score as Botafogo. With the difference that he opened a good advantage in the number of goals scored, 18 against 11 for the alvinegro.

Vasco is fifth, but still has a game to play in the round: Monday, against Boavista, in São Januário. If it wins, it will reach 17 points and pass Volta Redonda and Botafogo, throwing General Severiano’s team out of the G4.
