This Wednesday (28), the STF established a change in the rules for calculating party vacancies in elections for councilors and deputies. The change threatened to cause seven changes in seats in the Chamber of Deputies, but the court decided that the understanding will only come into effect after the next election.
The discussion concerns the division of the so-called electoral surplus, a smaller portion of seats in the Legislature defined after calculating the sum of valid votes from each party.
