Toucan leaders who have gone to the national PSDB directory, in Brasília, to talk to the party’s president, Eduardo Leite, have criticized the treatment given and talk about undoing and breaking the liturgy. Complaints have already reached members of the caption leadership.

In the absence of Leite or the impossibility of meeting with him, these toucans have been received frequently by Micheli Petry, party leader and right-hand man of the gaucho. She has been with him since before his first term as governor (2019-2022), but has never held a prominent national position in the PSDB.

In previous administrations, by Aécio Neves, Geraldo Alckmin and Bruno Araújo, this reception was usually made by historical representatives of the party, such as former federal deputies Silvio Torres and João Almeida, who then proceeded with the requests of parliamentarians and other politicians of the party. .

For these dissatisfied toucans, even though the question may seem punctual, it reveals what they see as a lack of knowledge or interest on the part of the governor of Rio Grande do Sul in relation to the operation and history of the party, in which these formalities are of great importance. and are seen as demonstrations of respect for the trajectories of each one.

At the end of June, Micheli was one of the participants in the reception of German Federal Deputy Peter Beyer, from the Christian Democratic Union (CDU). On the occasion, he explained to him the PSDB renewal process and the party’s position in relation to the Lula (PT) government, as reported on the official Tucano website.

In a note from its press office, the PSDB states that the party is “on the move, towards an important and necessary repositioning”, is in a process of change in which “the collective is more important than the individual”. That is why, he says, Leite has been making a caravan to listen to the party across the country and why “today no one speaks alone on behalf of the national president”.

“The role of political interface is being played together by party directors like Victor Ferreira, by party leaders like Micheli Petry, by our consultant, former deputy João Almeida, or even by members of the National Executive, like senator Tasso Jereissati.”

“The PSDB will continue changing. Renewing itself. Creating new alternatives, for itself and for Brazil. It is in this direction that the thousands of militants are working. And it is in this direction that the National Executive hopes that everyone will also work, looking at the party and for the future of Brazil, and not for the past or for mere personal ambitions”, concludes the note.
