The Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Dias Toffoli annulled this Thursday (15) all evidence of criminal actions against lawyer Rodrigo Tacla Duran that were being processed by the 13th Federal Court of Curitiba, responsible for the processes of Operation Lava Jato.

Based on this decision, the expectation is that Tacla Duran will be freed from the equivalent processes he is facing in Spain based on this alleged evidence, reported columnist Mônica Bergamo, in Folha de S. Paulo

In the decision, Toffoli argued that the actions against the lawyer used evidence from Odebrecht’s leniency agreement that had already been considered “useless” by the Court.

The minister pointed out “the unworthiness, as regards the applicant, of the evidence obtained from the Drousys and MyWebDay B systems [de contabilidade paralela] used in the leniency agreement signed by Odebrecht”. In March, the then Minister Ricardo Lewandowski had already suspended the actions against the lawyer.

At the beginning of the month, Toffoli granted a safe-conduct to authorize Tacla Duran, who lives in Spain, to participate in a session of the Administration and Public Service Commission of the Chamber of Deputies.

The decision was prompted by a commission request to ensure that the lawyer is heard by deputies on June 19. Tacla Duran denounced having suffered an alleged extortion attempt in Lava Jato.
