TJAP and TRT-8th Region sign cooperation for the sustainable destination of sensitive documents – News of Brazil

The president of the Court of Justice of Amapá (TJAP), judge Adão Carvalho signed, last Friday (2), together with the president of the Regional Labor Court of the 8th Region (TRT-8ª) – Pará and Amapá, judge Marcus Losada Maia, Technical Cooperation Agreement No. 001/2024, which establishes guidelines and responsibilities for the sustainable destination of sensitive documents from both institutions. The partnership was signed at the TRT-8ª headquarters, in Belém (PA). Also present by the Judiciary of Amapá, the auxiliary judge of the Presidency, Marina Lustosa and the secretary general, Veridiano Colares.

The Agreement establishes shared responsibilities for the responsible management of sensitive documents, in accordance with the Resolution of the National Council of Justice (CNJ) on sustainability, the General Personal Data Protection Law (LGPD – Law no. 13,709/2018) and the Resolutions No. 324/2020 and 400/2021 of the CNJ. The main purpose is to ensure the protection and adequate processing of sensitive data, in strict accordance with the LGPD.

These regulations impose strict guidelines for the management and protection of personal information and the purpose of the term is to ensure the effective application of these guidelines, in line with CNJ resolutions on sustainability in the pursuit of adopting practices that minimize environmental impact and promote responsible disposal of sensitive documents and, thus, integrate document management with sustainable guidelines and practices.

With the initiative, a detailed survey will initially be carried out of sensitive documents existing in both institutions, to identify their nature, volume and categorization in accordance with the LGPD.

Furthermore, according to the action plans prepared by TJAP and TRT-8ª, periodic evaluations will be carried out and the practices contained in the Cooperation Agreement will be adjusted, as necessary, to ensure effectiveness and compliance with the LGPD and CNJ resolutions.

“Dialogue and partnerships in favor of sustainability are an ongoing practice of the Amapá Justice Department. The preservation of the environment and the protection of personal data are becoming increasingly important, in line with the CNJ guidelines. It is essential to promote awareness about the importance of this work among our judges, civil servants and collaborators”, commented the president of TJAP.

The Regional Court of the 8th Region (TRT-8) has jurisdiction in the States of Pará and Amapá and judges labor cases involving individuals or legal entities in the 1st and 2nd Instances. The Regional Labor Courts also have the power to hear ordinary appeals and appeals and, originally, to hear collective disputes, termination actions, writs of mandamus, among others.
