The conclusion comes from observing the list formulated by Cies (Centro Internacional de Estudos Esportivos), a European institute that conducts research focused on sport, with a strong emphasis on football.
A survey published on the 6th of this month showed, based on a mathematical model from the Swiss study center (which includes the duration of the contract, age, experience, statistics on the field and participations in the national team, among other variables), that this team is valued at 1.625 billion euros (BRL 8.6 billion).
It is a team, since it has 11 players (in addition to the two Brazilians, there are four Englishmen, two Spaniards, a Croatian, a Canadian and a Norwegian), but at the same time it is not, since it is only imaginary – it only exists on paper and these athletes will never perform all together.
Of these 11, 9 were in the 2022 World Cup. English side James, who was injured, and center forward Haaland did not go to Qatar, as Norway did not qualify.
Not all, however, were starters in their selections. Ramsdale was in the reserve of Pickford in the English Team, and Militão, who ended up acting improvised on the side, was the substitute for Thiago Silva or Marquinhos in the defense of Brazil.

Fifth on the Cies list (which evaluated more than 30,000 players in 75 countries), who didn’t make the team I put together because the attacking positions were already occupied, is another Brazilian, Rodrygo (184.5 million euros), colleague of Vini Jr. and Militão, and now from Bellingham, at Real.
Rodrygo, as well as the attacking midfielders Musiala (German, 170.2 million euros) and Phil Foden (English, 166.8 million euros), are better valued than the phenomenal Frenchman Mbappé (163.2 million euros) , world champion in 2018 and runner-up in 2022, who is ranked tenth in the Cies list.
In the real world, without considering estimates such as those cited in this text, the most expensive transfer of a footballer was that of Neymar, who in 2017 left Barcelona for PSG for 222 million euros.
