The retired governor of the Federal District, Ibaneis Rocha (MDB), spoke about the Federal Police’s search and seizure operation carried out this Friday (20). Through social networks, Ibaneis informed that “there is nothing” in the addresses visited by the PF that could link him to the demonstrators of the acts of vandalism in Brasília.

“The operation carried out in my house, in my office and even in the office from which I have been on leave for over 4 years will show my complete innocence in relation to the regrettable facts of the last January 8th”, he wrote.

Ibaneis also recalled that he went to the PF to give testimony about the facts spontaneously. “I have always behaved in such a way as to collaborate with investigations and I maintain the same posture. I even made a spontaneous statement to the Federal Police, showing that there is nothing to be afraid of”, he added.

The removed governor was not in Brasília at the time of the PF operation. He also said that he maintains “faith in the judicial system and the certainty that everything will be clarified”. “I am away from the Federal District precisely so that the work of the police and the Justice Department can be carried out without any obstacles, always available for further clarifications”, he concluded.
