In the opinion of the federal deputy Dorinaldo Malafaia (PDT-AP), one of the great achievements of the Tax Reform approved this week in the Lower House and which will still be evaluated and voted on by the Senate, is the blow it deals in what seemed to be an indefectible fiscal war between the Brazilian federative units. He gave an interview, this Saturday morning, 8, on the program ‘Togas and Gowns’ (Diary FM 90.9).

The parliamentarian explained that with the reform established after almost 60 years there will be more balance between the states, because the rules for tax collection change. Until now, each federative unit has its own fiscal rules, but when the reform takes effect, this will no longer happen.

Dorinaldo recognized, however, that the states of the Center-South will continue with the historical power they have, as it is very difficult to break this pattern, but there will be a greater balance in the country due to the changes to be implemented with the new rules for charging taxes taxes, which he called “more civilized tax rule”.

The federal deputy also acknowledged that the Tax Reform in question is not the dream of all Brazilians, because many things that still hold back the country were left out, such as taxation on large fortunes. “But we took a big leap”he pondered.
