The CEO of the Amapá Development Agency, Jurandil Juarez, said in an interview with Daily Communication System believe that even in these few months of operation of the new government, the Executive already has control of the administrative machinery of the state, in addition to that all sectors are receiving due attention.
“We are making a coalition government, which is very good. If in Amapá we have all the efforts aimed at the development of the state, it will still be little”claims Jurandil, which complements: “Political division only gets in the way. We know that the big problem in Amapá, on this side of typical state actions, health is the one that draws the most attention, but all other sectors are being treated with priority”.
Regarding Amapá’s self-sufficiency in electricity, Juarez spoke of the reason why companies in the segment do not set up shop in the state: “We have four hydroelectric plants, being the first Brazilian state to have a plant built with its own money, from manganese royalties, the Guaracy Nunes hydroelectric plant. It’s not enough for us to be self-sufficient, we also need to set up an industrial park here; our demand must be met by the supply of the national system”.
Second Jurandil, Amapá is a pioneer in the Amazon region in projecting itself on the production of electricity. Solar energy in the state is already definitive. Amapá has several factories for the production of solar photovoltaic energy platforms, which guarantees great strides in the issue of development in clean energy.
The director-president says that in the economic sector there is doubt about the importance of the Free Trade Area of Macapá and Santana Amapá, and whether it could become a competitor of the Zona Franca Verde. He then clarifies: “The Free Trade Area is complementary to the Free Green Zone. Without them, we wouldn’t have the thriving trade we have here. All those traders who see the importance of the two are benefiting, which are very great. We have the cheapest basic basket in Brazil. The Zona Franca Verde will be an industrial area, it will not be a competitor”.
