TCU orders government of Amapá to prove payment of more than R$ 4.6 million to the National Health Fund – News of Brazil

Through Judgment 5900/2023, the 1st Chamber of the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU), established a new and non-extendable period of 15 days, from the date of notification, for the government of the state of Amapá to carry out and prove before the Court the payment of BRL 4,640,179.94 (debit) to the coffers of the National Health Fund, monetarily restated from the date indicated until the date of the effective payment. These are funds transferred by the federal government to Amapá between 2012 and 2017.
The decision of the TCU ministers, taken in the June 27 session, is the result of a special accounting instituted by the National Health Fund to the detriment of the state government in view of the lack of proof of the regular application of the resources transferred through an agreement signed with a view to to the expansion and renovation of the Hospital das Clínicas Dr. Alberto Lima (HCAL). The process is from 2020 and had minister Jhonatas de Jesus as rapporteur.
The government of Amapá is being made aware that the timely settlement of the monetarily updated debt will remedy the process and allow the accounts to be judged regular with reservation, giving discharge, and that the absence of this timely settlement will lead to the judgment for the irregularity of the accounts, with imputation of debt to be monetarily restated, plus interest on arrears.
