Sindifisco Nacional, the union of IRS tax auditors, rejected by an overwhelming majority the remuneration proposal presented by the federal government at a meeting held this Tuesday (5).

With a record number of participants –almost 5,500 auditors–, 95.15% of voters rejected the agreement. The result was forwarded to Robinson Barreirinhas, special secretary of the Revenue.

The government proposed implementing bonuses in installments. It would be R$4,500 to R$5,000 in 2024; between R$5,000 and R$7,000, in 2025; and R$11 thousand from 2026.

Sindifisco Nacional states, however, that the bonus would depend on achieving targets defined by the government. Today, auditors already receive a fixed bonus of R$3,000, which is not variable.

For the entity, the proposal does not comply with the law that deals with the remuneration of federal public servants, one of the reasons for maintaining the strike for an indefinite period.

The strike threatens the judgments of Carf, the taxpayers’ appeals council, and puts more than R$90 billion in processes at risk at the moment.
