Tabata Campaign rules out armistice with Boulos – 02/28/2024 – Panel

The team of federal deputy Tabata Amaral (PSB-SP) rules out a non-aggression pact with Guilherme Boulos (PSOL), in which both campaigns would focus attacks on mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB) and avoid heavier mutual criticism.

In the view of the pre-candidate’s group, such an armistice would make it difficult for the strategy to present it as an alternative to the problems of the left and right. The idea is that Tabata criticizes Boulos and Nunes with the same intensity.

In an interview with Sheet in September, Tabata said that Boulos’ biggest problem, in his view, is his “lack of seriousness and maturity.” As an example, he cited the need to dialogue with governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicanos-SP) to resolve problems related to Sabesp, and not “go on Twitter and break the bridge with someone who is placed [eleito]”.

Furthermore, there is the prospect that the psolista will already be forced to make more restrained criticisms of Tabata in the current scenario, given that he leads the electoral polls and cannot break the relationship with the pessebista if he wants to have her support in a possible second round. .

In December, Lula made an appeal during a ministerial meeting for a greater effort to reach an agreement between candidates from government parties in the 2024 municipal election. Addressing vice-president Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), he cited the dispute in the capital.

The topic of a possible armistice in São Paulo has already been discussed in meetings between the PT and PSB leadership.
